1857 (November 2): "Drottningbrev" double rate cover to the Hague, franked with two 1855 6 sk. gray single examples, 24 sk. vermilion horizontal pair, tied to 1857 cover by Stockholm cds, the 6 sk. further tied by boxed red "Franco" and faint indistinct red cds, black "Franco" and red "Aus Schweden" origin mark on obverse. Reverse with Stettin / Berlin transit and Gravenhage receiver (7 Nov), closed tear in right margin on the left hand 6 sk., cover has been cleaned to return it to its original state, yet a remarkably rare and attractive franking, its desirability further enhanced as being from Crown Princess (later Queen) Louise of Sweden to her governess Victoire Wauthier; see "Queen Louise's Correspondence" by Tomas Bjäringer & Kent Ryen, cover number S7, illustrated on page 112.
