1904 (May 9) Canterbury Times second series postcard depicting "Discovery in Winter Quarters" sent to Leonard Storey in Christchurch by Leonard Burgess, a crew member on the "Morning", bearing a N.Z 1d tied by Lyttelton squared circle. The short message is headed from H.M.S "Morning", and was written five weeks after the ship’s return from the Antarctic; a month later the "Morning" left New Zealand for England via the Falkland Islands. A rare use of a Canterbury Times postcard by a crew member from the Antarctic Expedition. Photo on Page 7.
