Boule de Moulin. 1870 (Dec 20) Small cover from Bordeaux to Paris inscribed "Par Moulins - Allier", bearing imperf Bordeaux issue 20c (3 margins) and 80c (faults) each cancelled "532" with a Bordeaux c.d.s alongside. The enclosed letter includes mention of ‘sending a telegram in September by Pigeon Post; apparently the Government prevented public use of this method on 27th October and the writer doubts that it has been received. The previous day he learnt of a new way - a letter of 4gms could be sent par Moulins sur Allier’. An attractive Boule de Moulin cover with interesting contents. Photo on Page 155.
