1943: Substantial stock of "Obelisk" surcharged sets in sheets of eighty for the 8 c. orange, 12 c. violet and 20 c. blue (folded in half) and sheets of forty of the 4 c. green and 15 c. red, with the addition of irregular sheets of thirty-eight plus horizontal pairs for both (making 80 for each value), unused, original gum, fresh; additionally, a number of other larger multiples and the odd single (at least 65 examples of each value), some minor imperfection, overall fine to very fine and extremely rare multiples and quantity (145 sets) Mi = € 72'500+ as sets of five.

1943: 'Obelisk', full set, unused, original gum, with handstamped surcharge in Amharic and English at top, at center the '3/11' and '1943' and each value surcharge increased by 5 cents, the 12 c. and 20 c. have uniform diagonal creases, otherwise fine, rare; one of 40 issued which were intended for use as gifts for VIPS from H.I.M. Haile Selassie I, presented during the inauguration ceremony of the new Obelisk erected as a monument to the Ethiopian patriots who fell during the Italian occupation of Ethiopia; signed AS Bolaffi in margins. Not listed in Michel Cert. Raybaudi (2005) Yvert = € 5,500.

Incoming 1905 (7 June): Cover from Vienna to Addis Abeba, franked on reverse with Austria 1905 25 h. ultramarine without lacquer stripes, tied by bluish black WIEN despatch cds with adjacent ADEN (19 June) and DJIBOUTI (29 June) transit cds's. On front the cover was charged with 1 piastre tax stamp, tied by HARAR cds in blue. A fine and fresh combination cover.rnNote: The addressee of the cover is Friedrich Julius Bieber (1873-1924), an Austrian, who visited Ethiopia three times in 1904, 1905, and 1909, and he is recognized as the leading ethnologist dealing with the Kafa in southwestern Ethiopia. In 1905, under the leadership of Ludwig Ritter von Höhnel, an Austrian public mission was despatched to Ethiopia. Bieber joined the journey as a specialist on Ethiopia and an Amharic interpreter.

1911 (15 April): Registered cover from Addis Abeba to Cairo bearing 1908 UPU issue 1 pia. on 1 g. blue, two single examples, the right one with an distorted 'piastre' overprint, in combination with Throne of Solomon ¼ g. green, a block of six on front, a block of ten on reverse, all cancelled / tied by bilingual ADIS ABEBA datestamp with R handstamp alongside, reverse with indistinct Egyptian cds (30 April).

1894/1981: Comprehesive dealer stock of stamps, predominately unused, comprising one large and two smaller stock books, includes complete run of sets, much never hinged especially the later and modern issues, as well as a number of envelopes with sets and unsorted, also a folder album containing specialised and scarcer examples, noted several sets of the 1943 'Obelisk' two with varieties and first day souvenir booklet, duplication in places, condition is fine to very fine, a substantial holding.
