This postcard sent by joseph Ronbicek, enquiring as to two amounts of 30 Rm, sent to Valerie Ronbicek and Edwine Propper. Were they received by the two people, from the Ghetto Administration. The two cachts on the address side are from the Jewish Ghetto Administration, received 28th March 1942, the postcard being written 24th March 1942. THERESIENSTADT. 3rd Reich Concentration Lager KL KZ Theresienstadt Receipt for Z1 Besides the forms with the summons to collect the stamp peronajjy, there were similar forms with which the stamp was sent directly to recipients outside Prague. It was bilingual (German and Czech), with the following text: "Enelosed, we are sending you for the aforementioned person 1 admission stamp for one parcel to Terezin. Glue this stamp to the parcel. Parcels to Terezin without this stamp affixed, will not be forwarded by themail. Please sign the receipt and return it immediatly. The Jewish Council of Elders in Prague Issuing office for admission stamps. 2 enelosures". The stamp was sent lightly affixed to the form. The forms with the stamp were sent,m either in an envelope or without it, always registered, with a receipt. 5. A5/227a - G - 3n - III. 44 - 5/m - A. D. 348 In the space for applicant, the text "Von" and "od" are in one line: "Von -0 od". The printed address "Altestenrat der Juden in Prag. "And "Zidovska rada starsich v Praze" in lines below each other was placed below the text in the centre. The most distinetive item from the field of "The Mail Service of the Ghetto Terezin' is definitely the 'Terezin Admission Stamps' - for its character, the way it was used and the number of preserved copies. The necessity to use the stamp for a parcel and the meticulous recording of the recipients of the stamp during the existence of the Proectorate made this item rare. The situation changed during the second half of 1945 when a large number of unused admission stamp appeared on the market. They came probably from the Jewish Council of Elders in Prague or from the store of the Central Office for the Settlement of the Jewish Question. IMPERFORATE BLOCK OF FOUR OF THE ADMISSION STAMP/ The distance between the stamps is the ordinary printing is 4.5mm both horizontally as well as vertically. In the design the letters FC are hidden. Lot 265 - Holocaust & Anti Semitism concentration camp post - Romano House of Stamp sales ltd Auction #37: Worldwide Stamps, Postal History, Worldwide Coins & Worldwide Banknotes 1944, PARCELS WITH ARRIVAL NOTICE FROM THE PROTECTORATE POSTCARD NOTICE NUMBER 103, if a parcel should have an arrivel notice or not was decided exxcxlusively by the recipient of the admission stamp in the Protectorate. The decision was not subjwct to the orders of the Ghetto commander and had no connection to the status of the prisoner - the addressee of the parcel. While collecting or receiving the stamp by mIL, the recipent could grt the arrival notice - a double postcard, divided by perforation in the middle into an upper and lower part. Both parts had a preprinted or typewritten German text. The sender of the parcel would fill it out and send it. or hand it over to the Jewish Councilk of Eldsers in Pragye or to its branch office. Through theCentral Office for the Settlement of the Jewish Question, it was sent to Rerezin. The address part of the po9stcard with the arrivel notice mostly had the following preprinted text: "May be forwarded only through department G of the Jewish Council of Elders in Prague". The camp commander handed it over, through the Jewish Elder, to the post office in the ghetto. The post office arranged the delivery of the upper part of the form - the arrivel notice - to the future recipient of the package or parcel. The lower part was filled in by the recipient on del;ivery of the parcel, and then sent back in the same way. Theupper section, intended for the recipient of the parcel, had in the upper left corner space for the address of the sender, the date anb the address. Below it there was the text: "Today i have sent you a parcel on your admissiob stamp. Please confirm receipt. Signature". The bottom section, had in the destination space-Theresienstaadt, as well as the date. The text ran: With thanks i confirm the receipt of your parcel of... Date andf Signature"., POSTCARD REF.
