Canada - Stamp Auctions

British North America colonies formed the Dominion of Canada in 1867 by delegates from the British North American colonies of Upper Canada (Ontario), Lower Canada (Quebec), New Brunswick and Nova Scotia in a meeting London, with a draft of the British North America Act, agreeing to become provinces of the new confederation. The draft was approved by the House of Lords and the House of Commons, and Queen Victoria gave her royal assent to the British North America Act. The country officially came into existence on July 1, 1867, and it would eventually be called the Dominion of Canada, or, Canada. British Columbia and Prince Edward Island joined the Canada four years later. Newfoundland remained a separate British colony until 1949, when it joined the Canada.

British North America colonies stamps appeared in the middle of the 19th Century. The stamps of this period are very thought after and many great collections were formed and exhibited worldwide. These stamps are very popular and bring high interest in stamp auctions. On the other hand, collecting modern Canadian stamps can be educational, and it can be very collection at a reasonably small cost for the stamp collector. They offer a multitude of possibilities of study and research, including paper types, shade varieties, and plate varieties.
