Blue Granite paper 1886/87: 1 d. violet on granite, perf. 11½, two used examples (4 JAN 87) on 1889 cover to the Duiven family in the Netherlands (J. Duiven was the Postmaster General of the Republic), with Transvaal 1885 ½ d. grey, 3 d. mauve and 4 d. bronze-green all tied by "VRYHEID" oval datestamps in violet (Feb 3, and year error 88). Reverse with 'Newcastle / Natal' cds (Feb 5, 1889), Durban cds (Feb 7), London cds. A scarce and most attractive cover.
