1857: 1 d. red, plate 67, perf. 14, wmk. large crown, horizontal pair, soiled, in combination with 1864 1 d. red, plate 79, two horizontal pairs, used on a registered 'Book Post' stationery cover front, from York, dated 29 July 1865, tied by '930' York duplex in black. The rate is 2 d. book post plus 4 d. registration fee. Fault to top and torn. Vertical filing crease centrally not affecting adhesives. A scarce combination franking. Only twelve examples recorded. Comes on an album page with a small envelope dated 6 July 1864 franked with a 1 d. penny star and a 1 d. penny plate 85, sent from Windermere to Wales. Scarce duo.
