1855: 1 s. yellow green, London Printing, watermark Large Star, imperforate, unused, with part original gum, good balanced margins all around, pleasing fresh colour, extremely rare, being one of only two examples believed extant with original gum, an exceptional classic stamp. Cert. Odenweller (2012) Gi. = £60,000.
Note: The accompanying certificate (2012) records this stamp has "probably the only example with original gum." A second example, described as having "small part original gum," and accompanied by a Royal Philatelic Society London certificate, was sold in the "Pegasus" Collection (Spink London, January 24, 2019, lot 536).
