Recess by De La Rue from Perkins Bacon plates 1863/64: 1 d. carmine-rose, perf. 13, no wmk., an unused block of four of fresh rich colour, perforations trimmed at left, but the two right hand stamps showing the marginal watermark letters "T.H." of the paper-maker's watermark: "T.H. SAUNDERS 1860". Large part og., an extremely scarce (SG states "parts of this watermark rarely occur on the stamps") and a most attractive multiple Gi = £ 320++.
