Vlastos 68 / Hellas 54, 1880-1886 Last Athens Large Hermes Head Issue on Cream Paper, the 2λ value in unused strip of 3, bearing on the gum a light strike of ΤΑΜΕΙΟΝ ΚΕΦΑΛΛΗΝΙΑΣ (Treasure Office of Cefalonia). This handstamp was used as Control Mark (April-June 1897) when the Turks captured considerable stocks of Greek stamps during their advance into Thessaly (1897 war with Turkey), never hinged, scarce on Large Hermes Head stamps (usually on Olympic Games 1896), F-VF (Bill Ure's collection)
