1900 A fine mounted mint orange Free State selection on approval page belonging to Mr A F Hochapfel, a Chemist and Druggist from Bloemfontein, who was also the wartime head of the Boer Field Post Office. He extended his Chemist business to include that of a stamp dealer selling Orange Free State stamps, including the Commando Briefen, for which he had been responsible for introducing to the British Troops. This is one of his original; approval sheets of 1900 which has fortunately not been depleted. On the sheets are 3 Commando Briefen (Type 2, 3, 4) and an ‘In Dienst’ stamp. Unique item.
