Passover Haggadah "Migdal Eder" w/115 exegeses & "Hemdat Israel" + "Sipurei Niflaot", 3rd ed. by R. Israel David ben R. Miller of Horodna (Grodno); printed 1902 by "Widow [Deborah d. 1903] & Brothers" Romm; 108 pgs, most intact, initial pgs w/frayed edges, title pg bottom left corner missing. Miller was a student of R. Menachem Nachum Kaplan 'Grodner' (HaTzadik) whose Hebrew biography he wrote & considered one of the best-known Hebrew writers in Grodno.

Press founded by Eliyau Zeev Levin Epstein 1880 Warsaw; firm bought 1973 by present Zmura Bitan Modan publ.; Epstein has distinction of receiving sole license to print Israel's stamps since 1948.

Sefer Nishmat Hayim (Soul of Life) by R. Menashe ben Israel (Manoel Dias Soeiro), 2nd printing, published 1876 Warsaw & printed by R. Chaim Kalter; 86 pages, rebound. Orig. publ. 1651/2. Ben Yisrael was Portuguese kabbalist, writer, diplomat, printer & publisher; founder of first Hebrew printing press ("Emeth Me Erets Titsmach") in Amsterdam, 1626 & chief proponent of re-admission of Jews to England; Baruch Spinoza was pupil. This book was his seminal work, a treatise on Jewish concept of reincarnation of souls, publ. by son Samuel six years before both died; some think that he studied kabbalah w/Abraham Cohen de Herrera, disciple of Israel Saruk, in light of his familiarity with method of R. Isaac Luria ("Arizal").

Baghdadian Passover Haggadah w/Arabic translation, 1910 (per m/s notation), missing title page & first 4 pages: includes b/w illustrations & photographs + light graphic design; incl. halachot on first pages; c. 160 pages w/Arabic m/s notations in places; leather-backed cover may be original, surface & edge wear; pages intact, few w/edge tears but complete. Very similar to editions produced by R. Shlomo Bechor Hutzin/Chotzin ("Rashbach", 1843-1892; a sage of Baghdad, student of R. Abdallah Somech, a poet & printer) & may be based on his.
