Lot 1636 - g.b postal history maritime mail - Argyll Etkin Ltd Worldwide Stamps and Postal HistoryFalmouth/Plymouth. 1810 Part letter from an Officer in the Peninsula, with interesting content regarding a British defeat by French soldiers disguised as peasants, carried by Packet to Plymouth with a superb "CADIZ / 13 NO 13 / 1810 / F" datestamp in green. The Falmouth Packets were diverted to Plymouth from November 10th 1810 following a Naval Mutiny at Falmouth, and continued to use Plymouth until January 1811. During this two month period the Falmouth Packet handstamps were taken to Plymouth and used there. Very scarce. Photo on Page 237.
