1872 Official registered mail sent via the Diamond Fields - One of the earliest recorded covers from the ZAR sent via the Diamond Fields, letter was posted after ZAR stamps were placed on sale, and is an example of unfranked official mail, sent by the Postmaster at Potchefstroom to the Cape Postmaster General. Oval 'REGISTERED/CAPE TOWN CAPE COLONY AU 15 72' with oval 'DIAMOND FIELDS AU 8 72' date stamp. This is one of the earliest covers recorded from the ZAR via the Diamond Fields.
