Red River Packet Bart Able. April 23, 1869 oval handstamp on 3¢ pink Nesbitt entire (U59) to New Orleans carried outside the mails; some edgewear, F.-V.F.
Milgram No. 90; Estimate $100 - 150.
The "Bart Able" of 548 tons was built at Louisville Ky. in 1864 and was enrolled at New Orleans in 1867 with Capt. W.C. Harrison as Master. In 1869, the Bart Able was running between Shreveport and New Orleans.
