1857, ¼ Ggr. grey-brown with clear Ra2 "VORSFELDE 20/9 * 9-10" in mixed franking with Saxony 1855 Johann 3 Ngr. on matt yellow, the latter with grid number stamp "11", both upward affixed on envelope from Altenburg to Nordsteimke to Countess von der Schulenburg, the 3 Ngr. touched above, otherwise in fresh colours and perfect condition. The Brunswick ¼ Ggr. was franked by the sender in order to make the letter completely free, i.e. also to pay the order fee. In Brunswick, the post office charged ½ Ggr. for the delivery of letters to the rural delivery area, whereas the storage fee for letters to be collected by the addressee was only ¼ Ggr. Since the sender knew that the addressee had her letters collected, he was able to pre-frank the storage fee! This is the only known mixed franking of Brunswick with Saxony, and also the only mixed franking where the order fee is affixed on face. In addition, second envelope (seal cut out on the back) from the same correspondence franked with Saxony 3 Ngr. with number "11" from "ALTENBURG 27.XI.61" with tax mark "6" (Pfennig) for the land order fee on the reverse, detailed certificate Lange BPP
