1869 15c brown and blue, type II, center inverted, lightly cancelled, centered to bottom, two small tears at right, otherwise fine example of this popular rarity, with 1965 PFC. Of the 100 issued inverts, three are recorded unused and 96 used (one in the British Library's Tapling collection and one in the New York Public Library's Miller Collection). Only nine are confirmed as sound, this example being much better than most (usually with tears and perfs touching), -
