"Rutersville Texas, March 13th 1857". Manuscript postmark with matching "10" rating on folded letter to Newport Md., receipt docketing, letter from E.W. Crawford advising states of Goodwin's property and advise's that slaves Baptist and Alfred were hired out for one year at price of $335, the estate is worth nothing though and the only way to pay the debts is to hire out the slaves, Fayette County, DPO 1839-1972.
