(5 Feb), handstamped with Rochereau & Co sender’s mark, endorsed “Steamer” in manuscript above, red “NEW YORK PAID / 24” c.d.s. (13 Feb) and adjacent “ET UNIS SERV BR AC.25” entry mark (25 Feb), with Paris (25 Feb) and Bordeaux arrival backstamps, adhesive colour slightly darkened from storage, a rare entire to France, postmarked the day after Louisiana joined the Confederacy; ex Allen, Knapp, Birkinbine, Walske.
