Afghanistan, 1873, domestic Kabul cover, with enclosure, franked with cut to shape 1 Shahi dated 1290 (1873), Plate VI, position. 15 (Scott 10, SG 12), tied manuscript. Kabul sabre cancel and tear cancel. Beneath the stamp is a manuscript. 'tikat Kabul', confirming Kabul origin. On address side is the sabre and cross with mystical number '691' (In the Name of God, the Great and Merciful) repeated for safe passage. Small tear does not detract.
