Airmail, 1933, Balbo Air Squadron Flight New York to Rome, 2¢ postal envelope to Philadelphia, uprated with 20¢ Golden Gate, 50¢ Arlington Amphitheater & $1 Lincoln Memorial, which are tied by New York July 23, 1933 duplex postmarks, special official cachet inscribed "New York-Roma" provided by the U.S. Post Office Department, backstamped at St. John's, Newfoundland & New York City. Also "3120" number at left; although not registered mail, each cover dispatched from New York was serially numbered and handled throughout by the Registry Division, Very Fine, only 492 covers flown.
