Canal Zone, 1912, 2c vermilion & black, imperf between, blue "SPECIMEN" overprint (Scott 39S var.), block of 6 with two horizontal pairs imperf between and two singles with imperforate right margins, 14x2mm overprint, placed diagonally below vignette plus punch hole at bottom right, o.g., never hinged; "B sheet" on ungummed part of selvedge of top right stamp, red ink on reverse of top right stamp of block, Fine.

This variety was never issued and is probably from a sheet intended to be used to make booklet panes .
