Austrian Lloyd Office in Smirna 1838 (March 7): Entire letter from Smirna to the British Consul in Syra, Greece endorsed "per Giovanni", struck on despatch with oval framed "AGENZIA DEL LLOYD AUSTRIACO / Smirne" in gothic letters in black (Tchilinghirian fig. 5). Disinfected by chisel slits with SYRA arrival cds (Feb 24j) in black on reverse. Scarce entire that displays well.
