1901 Near to complete set overprinted "BRITISH/PROTECTORATE" (1c. to 8c., 12c., 18c. and 24c.) used on registered cover from Kudat to Schweinfurt, Germany via Labuan and Italy, all tied by "KUDAT/28/SEP/1901" c.d.s., i.e. "10 DAYS BEFORE DATE OF ISSUE NOTED BY SG", with "REGISTERED No." and boxed "PIROSCAFI/ESTERI" handstamps on front, Labuan and Italian transit datestamps as well as Schweinfurt '3 Nov 01' arrival dater on the reverse. Some stains around the adhesives otherwise fine. Still an attractive cover and a VERY EARLY USAGE.
