Horwich. 1848 Entire letter to Manchester with fancy circular framed "HORWICH / P1D / LANC" and a Bolton datestamp alongside, filing endorsement at left, otherwise fine, one of the scarcest and most spectacular of all UPP handstamps. The enclosed letter is a surgeons bill for one guinea for attending to a guard killed on the Bolton line of the Lancashire & Yorkshire Railway. Photo on Page 250.
