Suffragettes. 1919 (July 10) Cover from Rotherham to Lincolnshire, burnt at the right edge and repaired by the label "It is regretted that this packet has been accidentally damaged in the post", the label and stamp both with a Rotherham c.d.s. A pencil note on the cover reads "a memento of the days of the militant Suffragettes, when the contents of pillar boxes were set on fire by them". An interesting cover.
