Worldwide Stamps and Postal History

1872 (Aug 26) Cover to France franked by 1872 watermark Crown CC sideways 1d (2) and 1/- paying the 1/2 double rate to Paris, each cancelled "B31", also tied by ‘Angl. Amb Calais’ c.d.s with red "PD" and London Paid c.d.s on the front. Backstamped with a red "PAID AT SIERRA LEONE" double arc datestamp and in London and France. Small closed tear at base and small part flap missing, otherwise fine. Very scarce and attractive, with B.P.A Certificate (2004). Photo on Page 206.
