1887 (Aug 8) 1pi Postcard written from Mount Troodos Camp to England cancelled by "942" numeral with "TROODOS / CYPRUS" c.d.s below. During the summer months troops and Government Officials went to Troodos, which never had its own numeral cancel but is known to have used the "D47" numeral of Polymedia in 1884-85, whilst two items are recorded from Troodos in 1887 with the "942" numeral issued to Larnaca. Very fine and exceptionally scarce used at Troodos. Ex Cruttwell. Photo on Page 152.
