The auction has a total of 3,735 lots catering for all types of collectors and dealers, and with reserve prices starting at just $20 there's something for everyone. Singles, covers, postal history, deceased estates, accumulations and specialist material are all well represented.
We have a wide range of Australian collections and accumulations (lots 98 - 423), and a comprehensive listing of over 500 World collections, accumulations and estates (lots 424 - 1013). A good selection of Australian Kangaroos is highlighted by a rare Third Watermark £2 Purple-black & rose. VF fresh MUH, nice original gum , SG 45b , ACSC 56C(LOT 1218).
Also in the Australian Pre decimal section a 1952 Aborigine 2/6, error wmk sideways INVERTED (with crown pointing right from front of stamp) marginal single, with matching normal for comparison. Superb fresh MUH, pristine original gum. Only small number U examples are recorded & 1 mint example (which was offered for sale by a Melbourne dealer in 2011 for $15,000), plus there was a MUH cnr blk of 4 which has now sadly been split & from which this stamp comes from. ACSC 265a cat $5,000+ for used (in 2005), SG 253aw cat £5500+ for U, so MUH has do be at least double, so £11,000. Important discovery & certificate can be obtained on request. The side margin shows the watermark very nicely from the front & thus a most desirable example (in auction 294 we sold the UR cnr margin example for $8150).(LOT 1423)

The $25 of same set was issued in 1940 for use on airmail letters & parcels, & was only recently listed by SG, while the $500 is actually of similar status to the KGV $500 with both being meant for fiscal use, & the KGVI stamp is actually much rarer. For comparison of value the SG cat of both KGV $25 & KGVI $25 are the same at £1100, & as SG cat for the KGV $500 is £55,000, the rarer KGVI $500 should also be rated at least at £55,000.
