Used to Canada: 1847, 10¢ black, clear to large margins all around, almost very fine, tied by red square grid on folded letter bearing red NEW YORK NO. 19(?) 21 c.d.s., manuscript "11", red PAID BOUTON and MONTREAL NO 24 1848 transit, the reverse bears PONTE-LEVI with manuscript "27 NOV 1848" in center receiver, however cover redirected back to Montreal with Nov. 30 eventual receiver. Interesting transitioning on a rare usage. (Scott 2).
