1840 Folded entire from London to Thornbury, franked 1d black, plate 1a, lettered RL, good to large margins tied by a faint bur clear strike of an orange-red Maltese cross, showing on flap a faint but legible strike of MY 6 1840 despatch cds which opens well to display; not trusting the glue, the stamp has been additionally fixed with a piece of sealing wax, two filing folds, one through adhesive, barely detract (SG £160'000)
