lot # 6336 - Finnland
1866 issue, 8 Penni black on ordinary green paper, with the EXTREMELY RARE NARROW SERPENTINE ROULETTE (Michel type E), cancelled in manuscript and by HEINOLA circular datestamp. VERY FINE. Grosfils-Berger recorded in 1947 9 singles of this great Finland rarity. A review of the major Finland collections sold at auction reveals that this stamp with its almost perfect serpentine roulette certainly BELONGS TO THE 3-4 FINEST KNOWN OF THIS RARITY. The two finest known are the extraordinary stamp from the Linders collection (lot 672) which sold for 16.000 CHF and the fabulous Admunsen (lot 33) single. THIS RARITY IS UNRECORDED IN UNUSED CONDITION. Certificate Schwenson BPP. (Facit 6v1C5, Scott 7f, Michel 6E = 18.000 €) Catalog Price 7500.00
