T.P.O. 1919 (May 5) Registered cover with G.B 1d pair each cancelled "UPPER EGYPT / TPO1" skeleton, a third strike applied to the registration label, backstamped with a further T.P.O datestamp and at A.P.O SZ10 and Cairo. A fine and scarce registered cover posted on the T.P.O which operated between Cairo and Aswan during civil disturbances (including a Post Office strike) in April and May 1919. Both Proud and Kennedy & Crabb only record the TPO 2 and TPO3 datestamp, this TPO1 skeleton unrecorded. Photo on Page 85.
