Worldwide Stamps and Postal History

1897 Prince of Wales Hospital fund, 1/- labels in complete mint sheets of 40 - a bundle of 500 sheets as delivered by De La Rue and still unopened after 117 years. The 500 sheets (with a total face value of £1,000) are between two thick pieces of card, the top card bearing the label "Messrs DE LA RUE’S No. / Hospital STAMPS / Duty 1/- - 500 Sheets / Packed 15 JUN 97 / H.C, Teller", the bundle then tied up with thick string secured by a lead seal. A remarkable find, the sheets all apparently superb unmounted mint. (20,000 labels in 500 sheets).
