1847 Entire letter from Dublin to Edinburgh with "2" charge mark, crossed out and increased to 3d upon redirection with "POSTAGE / TO / EDINBURGH / NOT PAID" handstamp; and 1887 1⁄2d wrapper to Ardrossan redirected to Glasgow with unusual "1⁄2" charge mark. (2).

1870 (Oct 27) Cover with enclosed letter from Edinburgh to India franked 1/- and 1d, with boxed "INSUFFICIENTLY PAID / FOR BRINDISI ROUTE / DEFICIENT POSTAGE 3d" and circular framed "St. BG / As 2". The 3d charge mark used on mail transferred to the more expensive Brindisi route when the Marseille route was suspended during the Franco-Prussian War. Small corner repair and a large closed tear, nevertheless a good looking example of this...

1874 Cover from Croydon to the Ordnance Survey office in London franked 1d, endorsed "Registered, coin letter" and charged 8d, the reverse bearing an explanatory "Caution" label; and 1901 registered cover to Paris franked 6d + 1d late fee with boxed "POSTED OUT / OF COURSE". (2).

1927 Cover from Brussels franked 4F75, handstamped "TRAM" and "T" with boxed "EXPRESS FEE PARTLY PAID/ Charge of 1d to be / Collected on Delivery", a 1d postage due stamp tied by Hoddesdon skeleton. Light folds and flap missing but an unusual charged express letter.
