1880 - ( c ) engraved Facsimile sheet of 32 impressions (8x4), the left and right halves identical, comprising se-tenant rows of 8 of 1847 1d POST OFFICE, 1848-59 1d POST PAID early and worn impressions plus 1859 Sherwin re-engraved 2d, all in CARMINE, on thick carton paper. The four engravings in each half row are derived from a single die but then retouched to produce differences in the portrait/background/shading/corner ornaments. A prior "proof" stage in the production of the SENF typographed facsimiles which were presented to readers of the ILLUSTRIERTES BRIEFMARKEN - JOURNAL (see Ibbotson, p.139).
