Francis F. Cleveland. 1864-1947, Wife of Grover Cleveland, 22nd and 24th President of the U.S. Free frank "Francis F. Cleveland" on 1909 mourning cover to New York, "Princeton N.J. Mar 12 1909" machine cancel; second with manuscript "Francis F. Cleveland Preston" free frank on cover to Mantoloking N.J., "Tamworth N.H. Aug 9 1926" duplex, a Very Fine pair of both signature types.
Estimate; $200 - 300.

Francis was married to Grover Cleveland at the White House on June 2, 1886, when she was 21 years old and they had five children. She remains the youngest first lady in history. After her husband President Cleveland died in 1908, she remarried on Feb. 10th 1913 to Professor Thomas Joseph Preston and franking privileges continued with the addition of "Preston" to her signature.
