China, 1912, "Republic of China" Overprints, Fabulous Collection of Multiples. Beautifully written-up and displayed on exquisitely produced pages, housed in one Lindner binder. Begins with a beautiful range of Statistical Dept. overprints, comprised of ½¢ (dual pane of 40), 1¢ (2 panes of 20, one with sheet number), 3¢ (dual irregular pane of 42 and a single pane of 25), 4¢ (pane of 20), 5¢ (dual pane of 40), 7¢ (pane of 25 with sheet number), 10¢ (blocks of 20 and 8), 16¢ (pane of 25 and irregular pane of 45), 20¢ (blocks of 8 and 12), 30¢ (full pane of 20), and 50¢ (full pane of 20). The Commercial Press issues include the 1¢ (full pane of 20 and gutter block of 16), 2¢ (dual pane of 40 and pane of 20), while the Waterlow overprints show a fine range of duplicated blocks to the 16¢ value. Finally included is the 5¢ orange unoverprinted Coiling Dragon (Scott #115) in gutter blocks of 32 and 35. A clean, lovely and scarce assemblage, mainly fresh, inspection invited, generally Very Fine.
