1847, 5¢ dark brown (1a), horizontal pair, small margins to barely shaved at left, canceled by red grids and tied by totally illegible red Apalachicola circular datestamp on 1849 folded letter to Savannah, Ga., datelined "Apalacha 19th Feby 1849", handstamped red "10" and endorsed "Paid Mail", Very Fine, not recorded in the Alexander Census.

The Alexander Census records only six 5¢ Apalachicola covers (all to New York), despite the fact that Apalachicola received 4,300 5¢ stamps.
