LEVANTE: CORREO AUSTRIACO. Mi.4. (1870 CA.). Entire letter written in arabic from BEIRUT to SYRA (Greece), franked by 1867/74 10s. blue, slight rub, tied by BERUTTI datestamp in brown (12/11), slightly over-lapped with Greece Large Hermes 20l. blue tied by Syros cds. The cover with some acid ink repaired faults but scarce and not unattractive.

LEVANTE: CORREO AUSTRIACO. Mi.5. 1870 (Feb.). Cover from CONSTANTINOPLE to BUCHAREST franked by 1867/74 15s. brown cancelled in transit solely by P.D. in blue with repeated strike at right. Reverse with VARNA thimble cancellation, Giurgiu transit cds (Feb 18) and Bucharest arrival cds. A few faults but a RARE and most unusual usage, probably posted on board the Steamer.
