Pre-Philately. 1850: Outer letter sheet to Tulcha struck on reverse with framed Cyrillic language Disinfection cachet 'CLEANED: ISMAIL QUAR: / 24 SEPTEMBER 1850' with date in manuscript. There are no slits in the cover and it must be assumed that it was forwarded from the Lazaret itself to Tulcha. A rarity of both Russian and Romanian disinfected mail.
