Welcome to the 306th Richard Allan Auction.
This sale contains many better or difficult to find singles and sets, as well as desirable studies & collections not often offered.
Most of this auction derives from two lovely old time collections broken down into suitable lots for you to enjoy.
As well as an all world selection, particular countries that are better represented than usual are Australia, China, Gold Coast, Hong Kong, Malaya & States, North Borneo/Labuan and Sierra Leone.
Whilst we enjoy sending the catalogues free of charge, it is at this time of year that we have to review our ever growing mailing list, as the costs of producing the catalogues continue to grow, so only if we have not heard from you for a while, a bid form sent into us will help us to continue sending catalogues.

ear Philatelist,
Welcome to the Richard Allan 304th Auction.
Please note that this auction closes on a Wednesday and not the usual Friday.
The last auction was another bumper one showing that key material is popular and keenly contested. After most auctions, we do get asked by quite a few bidders as to why they missed out on items they were desperate for. We quote starting prices instead of estimates and the market is very healthy so whilst many items may sell at the starting price, the more popular and the more difficult items have more keen bidders.
In this catalogue, there are some countries, not always so popular, so you will notice that we have actually lowered the starting price level to attract more interest. This auction again contains much interesting material, starting off with a few bumper collections so enjoy.
Whilst we enjoy sending the catalogues free of charge, it is at this time of year that we have to review our ever growing mailing list, as the costs of producing the catalogues continue to grow, so only if we have not heard from you for a while, a bid form sent into us will help us to continue sending catalogues..
You can bid Online Interactively at Richard Allan web site http://livebidding.richardallan.co.uk
The 1854-6 Crimean War between Russia on one side and an alliance of France, England and the Ottoman Empire on the other.
Documents from this war are coming up in our 334th auction of February 10-11, 2012.
Austria is well represented as always, the K.u.K. Monarchy comes about occupying the Danube principalities of the Moldau and Walachia. Serving in the first years from 1854 as field post supplies some offices became later also regular offices for civilians and kept their status until 1865 as Austrian consular post offices in the Levant.
Switzerland with in particular the Strubel issues will certainly be a further highlight of the auction.
In the German part three lots of German States are noticeable and these truly earn the attribute of being „world rarities.“
BADEN Landpost 12 Kreuzer“was always a synonym for a valuable stamp. Including A gem of the HELIGOLAND philately was recently re-discovered through our company.
Picture postcards, bank notes and approx. 40 estates of numismatic material complete the offer.
In total we are offering more than 2400 single lots from all philatelic and numismatic areas.
