China, 1898 (20 Jan.) envelope to Bristol, England (14.3) showing "Newchwang" origin dollar dater and bearing on reverse I.C.P. 4c. pair and single, cancelled by matching pakua and additionally tied by "Shanghai" dollar dater (3.2) and "Hong Kong/B" transit c.d.s. (11.2), in combination with Hong Kong 10c. cancelled by "Shanghai/C" c.d.s. (4.2), the envelope has vertical filing fold passing between but not affecting two of the I.C.P. stamps. A fine example of the 12 cents winter overland rate from the Bandinel correspondence; also 1897 New Currency surcharges on Dowager issue (7) with small figures 30c. on 24ca. and Red Revenue large figures 2c. on 3c., cancelled by Newchwang pakua in blue or brown.
