Auction #495 General Stamps Sale

Complete set of 12 values, pasted onto the title-page of the illustrated book "Olympic Games / 776-1896" with 112 pages, published by Ch. Beck in Greek & French in parallel. The stamps are cancelled in red with the Committee's Greek & French cachets: "COMITE HELLENE DES JEUX OLYMPIQUES / 1896" & "ΕΠΙΤΡΟΠΗ ΤΩΝ ΟΛΥΜΠΙΑΚΩΝ ΑΓΩΝΩΝ ΕΝ ΑΘΗΝΑΙΣ". The book was given as a grant from Damianos Vekousis to Th. Matsoukis (later, committee member of ΕΟΦΠΠΑΒ).
