1857, 1¢ blue, type Ia, "curl on shoulder" variety (Scott 19 var.), position 97L4, neatly struck black cancellation, impressive example of this rarely offered type Ia stamp, even scarcer so being the desirable "Curl on shoulder" variety, with alluring rich olor and finely detailed impression, missing from all but the most advanced U.S. collections; vertical crease which doesn't affect this stamp's gorgeous appearance, otherwise Fine, 1975 P.F. certificate.
