6 crosses on yellow with no. "24" and Ra. 2 "CARLSRUHE 3 Jan." next to it. (1857) on complete folded cover (receipt from the Baden pension organisation for 154 guilders) to a pharmacist in Colmar. As underfranked, Ra. "B.6 K." placed next to it, stamp (postage stamp) crossed out with a pen stroke, handwritten "reicht nicht" and postage paid with "12" Decimen.

Original and otherwise fine condition. An extraordinarily scarce franking combination (we have only registered 2 others) and rare cancellation. Certificate Stegmüller BPP (2004)

9 Kreuzer on lilac pink, 3 single values, in mixed franking with 2 single values 1854, 6 Kreuzer on yellow and perforated issue 3 Kreuzer prussian blue, on envelope (left flap shortened) of 2nd German and 3rd French weight class to Madrid, Spain, with adjacent blue tax stamp "12 R." for the Spanish domestic postage, which was to be paid by the addressee. Horizontal letter fold through the 3 upper values, otherwise fresh colours and original condition. An impressive and unique foreign franking. 9 Kreuzer on purple-pink in horizontal pair, in mixed franking with 1853,1 Kreuzer black in vertical pair and 1858, 3 Kreuzer on blue, all fresh colours and mostly full to large margins, with no. "57" and adjacent DKr. "HEIDELBERG 2 MAY" (1860) on complete folded cover via Prussia and Belgium to a military address in Lewes, Sussex; franked according to the 1852 rate with 9 Kreuzer association postage and 14 Kreuzer further franking (noted on face). Postage paid partly somewhat defective, but overall good and original condition. A very rare 3 colour postage paid and for this time scarce routing to England.

"153" and clock wheel cancel "42" (Berau) on envelope with prepaid order fee and land mail tax, with adjacent DKr. "WALDSHUT 17. AUG. (1859) to Karlsruhe. "148" on cash on delivery envelope (without side flaps) from "VILLINGEN 17 MRZ." to Sickingen in Bretten's Landbestellbezirk. The postage paid corresponded to 6 Kr postage + 1 Kr order fee + 1 Kr land mail tax, 2 Kr cash on delivery commission was charged (corresponding night tax of "40" crosses including 30 Kreuzer cash on delivery fee). "BADEN 29 SEP" (1859) on small mourning envelope (on reverse black varnish seal "Marie" and enclosed visiting card of the Duchess of Hamilton) via France to the Duke of Hamilton to Brodick Castle on the Isle of Arran, Scotland. 9 Kreuzer minimal corner crease, otherwise good condition.
