R.A.F Air Mails. 1919 (July 22) Way bill for 15 sacks of mail flown by the R.A.F postal service from A.P.O S40 at Cologne to Lympne Aerodrome, Folkestone, signed by the pilot Lieut. Ramsay and by the mail guard L/Cpl. Haskell at A.P.O S106. The RAF postal service commenced on 1st March 1919 flying from Cologne to Hawkinge, but transferred to Lympne on July 22nd and ceased on August 31st. R.A.F Air Mails. 1919 (Aug 11/18) Stampless O.A.S covers signed by Brigadier General Potter to his wife in England, both inscribed "By air mail", with F.P.O H6 datestamps of Duren and censor cachets. Flown by the R.A.F air service from Cologne to Lympne near Folkestone. Very few covers actually show such evidence of having been flown. The service ceased at the end of August 1919. (2).
