1882 (Oct 2) Cover to Wales with G.B 21⁄2d blue plate 23 tied "BRITISH ARMY POST OFFICE / EGYPT" c.d.s, the enclosed letter from Lt. A.E Sandbach at Kasr-en-Nil Barracks, Cairo, reports the march past that afternoon before the Khedive and Sir Garnet Wolseley, and his imminent departure from Alexandria to England on the "Oxenholme". A superb example of this c.d.s in its final week of use. Photo on Page 71.
