GREAT BRITAIN: Victoria, 1837-1901, AR medal set, SET of three medals mounted on bar:
1) Order of the Medjidie, 4th Class medal, with original ribbon for wearing around the neck. Star-shaped design with Sultan Abdul Mejid's royal tughra surrounded by an inscription on a gold-bordered circle of red enamel; all on a star of seven triple quills with small crescents and five-pointed stars between them, British made example suspended from a red enameled crescent and star suspender with original ribbon
2) Turkish Crimea War Medal (Kirim Harbi Madalyasi), Ottoman Sultan’s tughra with the year AH1271 on all versions / a cannon standing upon the Imperial Russian flag, an anchor and a mortar. There are four flags to the rear of these three items which can be used to identify the country to which the medal was intended. This will be for either a soldier from Great Britain, or France, or Sardinia. The identifying flag is the central right hand flag, positioned above the anchor. It is either the Union Flag for Great Britain, the tricolour for France, or the flag of the Kingdom of Italy for Sardinia, based on the Italian tricolore. This example was issued for British troops with the legend CRIMEA 1855 in exergue, with original ring, loop and ribbon
3) British Crimean War Medal, by W. Wyon, struck at the Royal mint, young portrait of Queen left / Victory flying right, crowning soldier standing facing, holding shield, with original ribbon and Sebastopol bar
